The Foundation

At the annual meeting in Allensbach in 2025, IG16—an informal and non-binding association of Syncro drivers that has existed since 1993—resolved to establish a registered association. The objective was to provide a formal legal framework for the group’s joint activities, which until then had been organized by individuals on a personal basis and at their own risk.

In order to accommodate the differing needs of its members, an association structure was adopted in which the majority of former IG members participate as supporting members without further obligations. Organizational responsibilities are assumed by a coordination team (Executive Board, Treasury, and Membership Administration) as well as by the local chapter representatives, who act as full members with corresponding rights and duties.

This structure, together with the commitment enshrined in the association’s statutes to listen to and appropriately consider the concerns of supporting members, is intended to ensure that the association represents the interests of all IG members in a comprehensive manner.
